Aggieville Business Improvement District

The purpose of the Aggieville Business Improvement District is to monitor and oversee the provision of services within the Aggieville Business Improvement District as established by agreement between the District and the City of Manhattan.

The services the Aggieville Business Improvement District provide are:

  • Advocating for and promotion of our businesses in the District

    • Work closely with City staff and Chamber of Commerce

  • Working with outside entities that have a major impact on our District

    • Manhattan Chamber of Commerce

    • City of Manhattan

    • Manhattan City Commission

    • Riley County Police Department

    • Riley County Law Board

    • Riley County Commission

    • Fort Riley liaisons

    • Kansas State University

    • Manhattan Christian College

  • Aggieville website and social media, newsletters and Monthly Lunch Meetings

    • Website

    • Facebook

    • Instagram

  • Maintenance

    • Trash removal from street containers

    • Periodic sidewalk power washing

    • Snow removal from sidewalks when needed ( above 3" )

  • New business recruitment

    • List of available properties

    • Relationships with property owners and developers

    • Speak to outside groups on updates in Aggieville

  • Promotional events that attract 1000's to our District

Each January, the City of Manhattan bills each Aggieville business or vacant space landlord for their ABID annual fee. This represents dues and square footage assessments. These fees along with support from the City via the Transient Guest Tax, and Associate Memberships represent the total funding sources for the Aggieville Business Association.
